Howard Kensington and Julia Hollingsworth were practically forced into a relationship when they turned sixteen. Their fathers made a pact when they were born, only a few months apart, to guide them toward marrying each other when they were older. Howard doesn't balk on what is expected of him, but Julia is another story. He may not have been able to hold onto her attention, but twenty-eight years later, her daughter, Kate, keeps looking his way.

I have had the back stories on Nathan Reed and Leo Kensington floating around in my head for over five years now. Nathan is a manly FBI Agent who hates to share his feelings. Leo is charming and romantic. I decided to share a little more about what makes these two men tick, and why they can't live without Kate Collins.
Kate's mother, Julia, and Leo's uncle, Howard were a couple long before the two of them ever met. Their relationship didn't end too well, but their story still needed to be told. Will Kate and Leo meet the same fate or fare far better?

Kate Collins is the first heroine I ever created. She is near and dear to my heart. My initial memories of a spy were in the James Bond movie You Only Live Twice. I was a small child at a drive-in movie theater with my parents and younger brother. I usually fell asleep. For some reason, I managed to stay awake to watch 007. I still remember his wife rolling over and receiving barely enough poison to seal her fate. Of course, the lethal dose was intended for him. That scene haunted me, and kept me from restful nights for nearly a week.
Kate doesn't die in these series. I'll give that much away A few other characters aren't as fortunate. I do love a good murder.
